With me traveling through time and Skittles apparent disappearance from the earth, the majority of this blogs material has fallen into the hands of Biff. It has since turned into his personal outlet for confessing his homosexual desires for John Mayer and Kanye West in an Ivy League vocabulary, a few words of which I don't understand. I'm not complaining though, without his contribution "tha crick", as he so aptly named it, would be on life support. I applaud his continued efforts but at the same time am here to save this blog from continued Biff domination. The problem is that, being in Australia, I have a tough time of staying up with the bloggable stories happening in the US. For now I'll just stick to talking about someone who has quickly gotten on my bad side, Manny Ramirez.
Manny Ramirez has quickly become an ignorant deutsch bag. Recently, Manny turned down a two year $45 million deal. This deal would make him the second highest paid player in the game for 2009. In reality he's not even a top ten player in the game anymore. Maybe not even top 20. Before he tanked on the Red Sox and was subsequently kicked off the team he was having an average year for a hall of famer on the last legs of his career. Previous to his trade to the Dodgers he was batting a pedestrian .299 with 20 homers and 68 rbi's through 100 games. That means he would have ended up with a season of something like 32 homers and 110 rbis. A solid season no doubt, but that is assuming that he would have played 162 games, which we all know is far from the truth as he would have continued to sit out the biggest games of the year, and his total games would have been somewhere around 140ish. In that case you can subtract a considerable amount from the numbers mentioned before. Anyways, those certainly aren't second highest paid players in the game numbers, but that's not what pisses me off about Manuel. There are plenty of players that are vastly overpaid in the league. The thing that gets me going about this whole situation is the fact that the season has already fucking started and he has no interest in even playing the sport of baseball at this point. His sole purpose is to make as much money as possible, and once he does his performance will decrease drastically. The only reason his numbers went up during his time in LA was because he was SOLELY playing for a contract. At this point I don't even know why the Dodgers still want him. If he really thinks he's worth more than $45 million over two years than he's even more clueless that I thought. If he ever does rediscover his love for the sport of baseball and some of his long lost respect for the integrity of the game and does sign a contract, I predict his numbers for 2009 will be fairly average. I say he has a year of .290 with 25-30 dingers and 90 rbi's or so, all while playing in less than 140 games because hes a lazy sack of shit who doesn't care about playing on a team with the collective goal of winning baseball games. I hope the Dodgers and every other team realizes his ignorance and lets him sit out the year and maybe rest of his career while he continues to believe he's a top five player and beats up elderly men.
