Scrubs season 8 is into its tenth episode and thus far it is by far the worst season by an insurmountable amount. There was a brief stint in the first few episodes where I LQTMed quite a bit, but I don't know if that was just out of excitement that one of my favorite sitcoms was back. The writing this season seems to be half-assed and the actors seem to lack the old energy they portrayed, most likely due to the fact that ABC isn't meeting their high pay demands. The introduction of new characters such as Ted's girlfriend, Gooch('s beach), and the new interns was exciting, but these characters are lame as fuck, pardon my French. The lack of new stories and the overuse of old jokes has been this season's downfall. The writers ran out of ideas last season.
Everyone knew JD and Eliot would end up together, but come on, couldn't they have made it more suspenseful? They were just all of a sudden boning without their normal drama. And what about JD's son Sam and his baby mama Kim? We've rarely been graced with Sam's presence and we are without a mention of Kim. JD has a baby son for Christ's sake, where the hell is he?
Many of the actors, including Zach Braff, have expressed that they weren't very interested in a season 8 and were hoping it would end after 7 seasons, however due to the writers' strike, that wasn't possible. Braff and Judy Reyes (Carla) will both be leaving after this season to pursue their own endeavours. The show's executive producer, Bill Lawrence, also stated that he had no interest in continuing the show, but stated the show may continue with new characters and possibly a different title if there are more seasons.
This season is bullshit and it's ruining the show.
